The Artisan Collective, an initiative of British Baker publisher William Reed, has announced this year’s Baker’s Dozen. The list of ‘Britain’s Best Artisan Bakeries’ was based on votes by British Baker readers.
The list features Real Bread Campaign supporters:
It also includes bakeries that have listed their details on the Real Bread Map: The Bear Bakery in Chester, Northern Rye in Tyneside, and The Tiny Bakery in Leicester.
Real Bread Campaign coordinator Chris Young said: ‘Running a small, local bakery is hard work and can often feel like a thankless task, so It’s great to see their efforts and achievements being celebrated. Congratulations to all, especially to the supporters of our charity’s work and the other Real Bread bakers on the list.’
Profiles of all 13 bakeries can be found on the British baker website.
Whether or not you make Real Bread, we invite everyone to JOIN the Campaign in support of our charity's work.
We also invite every bakery business that makes at least one additive-free bread to add your details to the free Real Bread Map and encourage you to sign up to The Real Bread Loaf Mark scheme.
