A garlic and rosemary deep pan focaccia has been crowned Britain's Best Loaf 2024. This Real Bread was crafted by 4 Eyes Bakery in Chesterfield.
The bakery told the Campaign that their focaccia is additive-free, adding: 'we strongly believe in this and our head baker Tom will not compromise on this [...] he is a strong advocate for it.'
All but two of the categories in this year’s competition were awarded to Real Bread made by bakers in the Real Bread Campaign’s network.
Real Bread Campaign coordinator Chris Young said:
'Congratulations to all of our charity's supporters, and other Real Bread bakers, who won awards or were highly commended. As always, it's great to see skilled, true artisan bakers proving that shunning additives is the route towards making the best bread.'
The full list of winners and runners up can be found on the Britain's Best Loaf website.
