Slow Food Awards 2024's Real Bread winners
Campaign supporters celebrated.
The Slow Food Awards 2024 have recognised the work of Real Bread Campaign supporters around the UK.
Winner in The Food Product of the Year category for England and the UK overall was a sourdough loaf, crafted by past Real Bread Campaign ambassador’s eponymous Peter Cooks Bread in Herefordshire.
Other Campaign supporters winning categories in their nations were:
- Slow Food Scotland’s Food Product of the Year: wholemeal loaf by Freedom Bakery in Glasgow.
- Slow Food Northern Ireland’s Producer of the Year: Counter Culture in Bangor.
- Slow Food Northern Ireland’s Food Product of the Year: sourdough focaccia by Counter Culture in Bangor.
The winners were decided by public vote, with the overall UK winner in each category being the entrant with the most votes across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
