More recently, the World Bread Awards were again dominated by Real Bread. Campaign supporters on the podium last night (6 October), included triple category winner Mark Bennett of Patisserie Mark Bennett, double category winner Rebecca Bishop of Two Magpies Bakery, Stephen Harrison of Farnley Market and Dominic Salter of Sandwich Box.
Collectively, other bakeries that have listed their loaves on the Real Bread Finder map scooped more than 40 gold awards, including overall winner James Freeman of Victoria Bakery, and category winner Steve Winter of Bread Source.
Meanwhile, The Sussex Kitchen and Leakers Bakery bagged multiple Great British Taste Awards gold stars; Rex Bakery won at The Great British Food Awards; and SNAPS + RYE’s Danish-style rye sourdough baked was crowned The Londoners’ Loaf in the Urban Food Awards.
We believe that this is all yet more evidence that to craft the best loaves, bakers should ditch artificial additives to bake Real Bread.
