Long-time Real Bread Campaign supporter Pump Street Bakery in Suffolk has been named East England Bakery of the Year and National Bakery of the Year in the National Bakery Awards.
Bakery Business Magazine, which runs the awards, posted on Instagram: ‘This bakery is known for its unforgettable culinary experience that truly reflects the passion and dedication of its team. Pump Street Bakery is very much a family affair, earning a stellar reputation for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship. A deserving win, well done!’
Regional awards were also won by two bakeries owned by Campaign ambassadors: Aidan Monks’s Lovingly Artisan and the eponymous Peter Cooks Bread.
Other Campaign supporters taking home prizes on the night were:
Two Dales Bakery - Yorkshire and Humber Bakery of the Year
Northern Rye – North East Bakery of the Year
The title of South East Bakery of The Year was taken by The Open Bakery, which has listed its details on the Real Bread Map.
Many more Campaign supporters and friends were at the ceremony on 25 September to collect their county winners certificates.
Real Bread Campaign coordinator Chris Young said: “Well done to all of our supporters, and other Real Bread bakers, who took home awards yesterday.”
Every bakery that makes what the Campaign calls Real Bread is welcome to add their details to the Real Bread Map for free.
EVERYONE who makes, or simply loves, Real Bread is encouraged to JOIN the Campaign as a supporter of the charity’s work.
