Thursday 26 November 2026 marks the Real Bread Campaign's 18th anniversary and we're inviting everyone to help make it Britain’s biggest bready birthday bash!*
How you join the celebrations is up to you but here are some suggestions...
*We actually have supporters across the UK and in other countries, but couldn’t resist the alliteration.
Something that everyone can do during the Campaign's birthday / anniversary week is make celebratory Real Bread (sweet or savoury) or perhaps a Nordic-style sandwich cake.
Please post a video / photo of your birthday bread on social media, mentioning us (we’re @RealBreadCampaign on Insta and Facebook) in the caption.
Even easier will be posting a birthday message on your social media account(s).
We want people to be able to see (and, ideally, experience) Campaign anniversary action in bakeries, mills, baking schools etc.
If you decide to run a public activity / event, please add the details to our calendar.
After months of get-togethers and planning, Sustain and Andrew Whitley of Bread Matters officially launched the Real Bread Campaign on 26 November 2008.
As well as saying thank you again to everyone who’s helped along the way, we’ll be seizing the dough to remind the world what the Campaign (and wider movement) has done and achieved to date, and that we still need support to continue.
We'll also be highlighting opportunities and obstacles now and on the horizon.
Real Bread Campaign: Finding and sharing ways to make bread better for us, our communities and planet.
