Real Bread bakeries scoop more awards
National Bakery Awards regional winners revealed.
Following the announcement in May of its county champions, Bakery Business magazine has named its regional winners in the National Bakery Awards. The current Real Bread Campaign supporters on the list are:
- Wales: Alex Gooch Artisan Baker
- North East: Northern Rye
- West Midlands: Live Love Loaf
Having been selected as county champion for Kent, Real Bread Map listed Bradbourne Bakery in Sevenoaks was crowned National Bakery of the Year.
Real Bread Campaign co-ordinator Chris Young said: “Congratulations to them and all Campaign supporters amongst the county champions, as well as all of the other Real Bread bakeries recognised by the National Bakery Awards.”
At the time of writing, the regional winners hadn’t been published on the National Bakery Awards website.
A shout to our supporters
When reporting on awards, we tend to focus on current Campaign supporters as a small thing we can add to our thanks to them for backing our work.
We sometimes also give a nod to bakeries that, while not Campaign supporters, have confirmed they make at least some additive-free products by adding their details to the Real Bread Map.
Due to the time involved in cross-referencing lists of winners in larger awards against our own database, in some cases we limit our reporting to the winners of higher-level awards.
Missing from the party?
Everyone who makes Real Bread (ie additive-free) for sale is invited to add the details to the Real Bread Map.
Everyone, whether baker or not, is encouraged to join the Real Bread Campaign in support of our charity’s work.
