The following food-serving organisations in Stockport have signed the Sustainable Fish City pledge for their fish buying, also promising to promote sustainable fish to their staff and customers.
Local authorities and schools
Solutions SK
Solutions SK is Stockport’s own facilities, catering and environmental services organisation, owned wholly by Stockport Council and the largest provider of school meals in the Borough. Solutions SK was one of the first caterers to join the Fish and Kids project; adding the Marine Stewardship Council ecolabel to menus and using fun educational resources in schools. They provide over 1.5 million school meals per year, and use only British meat and free range eggs.
Hospitals
Stepping Hill Hospital
Stepping Hill Hospital is Stockport NHS Foundation Trust’s main hospital and by far it's largest, and looks after a population of around 350,000. The hospital has one of the largest orthopaedic services in the country and a specialist stroke centre serving the south of Greater Manchester. With 778 beds it operates a large and busy food operation, catering for inpatients with specialist needs including urology, maternity and stroke, as well as for visitors and thousands of staff. A part of the Sustainable Fish Cities pledge, only sustainable fish will be served across all catering operations.

Workplaces
The largest hospital in Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, Stepping Hill, employs over 5,000 medical and non-medical staff and as such is one of the largest workplaces in Stockport. The onsite restaurant offers food throughout the day and a night service for staff working late shifts. All meals served will now only contain sustainable fish.
Stockport Town Hall hosts events as diverse as tea parties, business conferences, food fairs and weddings, and offer catering to serve all events. The caterer for the town hall has signed up to the Sustainable Fish Cities pledge, meaning that all fish served will be demonstrably sustainable.
Stockport Council is one of the largest employers in the area. The offices have their own restaurant, offering freshly cooked food to the hundreds of council staff.
