Launched by the Real Bread Campaign in 2010, Real Bread Week is the annual, international celebration of additive-free bread and people who make it.
From 15 to 23 February 2025, we’ll be encouraging people to (altogether now)…
We invite all Real Bread bakeries, baking schools, mills, schools, care homes and other organisations to get involved in whatever ways work for them, in line with the aims above.
Ideas include:
Once you’ve made your plans, please, please, please add the details to the Real Bread events calendar, so we know (and can tell journalists, influencers and other people) what’s going on where.
Please also login to check your (or create a) free Real Bread Map listing for your bakery or baking school.
Since 2008, Campaign supporters, friends and the wider Real Bread movement have benefitted directly or indirectly from our charity's efforts. Now more than ever we need to get more of that love (by which we mean cash) back.
To help enable Sustain to keep running your Real Bread Campaign, please consider:
Balcony Shirts will be making a limited-edition design t-shirt, apron and mug available in February (and you can buy year-round designs) at www.realbreadshop.co.uk
Bakery owners and public sector caterers: How will you make Real Bread available to people on the tightest budgets in your local community during Real Bread Week and beyond?
Rather than giving away leftover loaves to a foodbank, we’re talking about offering fresh bread at prices realistically affordable to people struggling to make ends meet. Our free Real Bread for All guide includes suggestions and examples.
While there are larger, better-funded organisations that focus on promoting wholegrain foods, we also encourage people to make, sell, buy and celebrate wholemeal Real Bread during the week and beyond.
