Permaculture learning opportunities with the Apricot Centre

Permaculture is an method within farming, growing and land use that centres natural ecosystems and minimises waste. These methods are widely used across the sustiainable farming sector - also known as agroecology.

The Apricot Centre Permaculture Design Course is a part-time, non-residential course delivered over 6 weekends making it perfect for those wishing to study whilst working or who have other commitments. Delivered at Huxhams Cross Farm in Devon which has organic and biodynamic status; the farm is a demonstration permaculture site and a rare example of farm-scale permaculture in action. 

Using creative and practical teaching methods students will develop and experience the principles and practices of permaculture design, with emphasis on guiding them to design in groups and individually with support from tutors. This structure equips learners with the skills to go on to design and implement their own larger farms, smallholding, community gardens, or even your back garden.

The course runs from September 2026 to February 2027 and can be booked via Eventbrite.

The Apricot Centre also hosts a 4-day Introduction to Biodynamics & Agroecology on Fridays in September and an Introduction to Regenerative Agriculture over evenings across 6 weeks, amongst other more niche offerings. 

All of their accredited courses are Ofqual registered.
