Join the Government's Youth Climate and Nature Panel

The Youth Climate and Nature Panel is a new initiative from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) putting young people’s voices at the heart of climate and nature policy. 

Fifteen young people aged 16 to 25 who are passionate about shaping climate and nature policy, across the UK and from a range of backgrounds and experiences, will form the panel.

The panel will:

• provide insight and advice to government on climate and nature policies
• support better engagement with young people  
• strengthen collaboration between different generations on climate and nature issues  
• help amplify youth voices and action across the UK 

The panel is part of the UK government’s commitment to work with people and communities across the country to make sure that everyone can benefit from the transition to net zero.    

The recruitment is open to young people based across the UK aged 16 to 18 (with 19-25 year olds recruited via partner organisations) with a deadline of Friday 11 September, 2026.

Applicants are invited to answer the following questions:

• what ideas and experiences do you think you could bring to the Youth Climate and Nature Panel 
• what would you hope to gain from beingart of the Youth Climate and Nature Panel
