Glyphosate, the world's most widely used pesticide, often known by its trade name Roundup, has recently been the subject of much argument. Public health bodies, governments and the chemical industry have disagreed over its safety, and also over the truthfulness and transparency of the information being used to back up arguments.
To aid understanding, and buttress its case that glyphosate should be phased out all over the world, the International arm of Sustain member
Pesticides Action Network has now produced a 'state of the science' review.
In it, PAN International presents a huge body of research documenting the adverse human health and environmental impacts of glyphosate and glyphosate-based products. PAN UK says the report should serve as a wake-up call for regulators, governments and users around the world.
