Scottish schools challenged on free fruit and veg

The British Medical Association in Scotland is calling for all primary school children in Scotland to get a free portion of fruit or veg each day.

The BMA says their survey of local authorities in Scotland suggests that while school meals are now free for children in the first three years of primary school, only 11 of Scotland’s 32 councils provided free fruit and vegetables in primary schools, and none provided it more than three days a week.
