Fresh guidance on infant formula

The best value products are the least advertised, according to updated reports from the First Steps Nutrition Trust.

Sustain member the First Steps Nutrition Trust has updated several of its publications on the composition and cost of infant formula, to help health workers understand what lies behind the claims of the various products on the market.

Interestingly, it notes that the best value infant milks are the ones that do not advertise, and points out that it is important for health professionals to reassure families that these more cost-effective infant milks are still required to meet compositional and labelling regulations.
