Farming, Food and Climate Justice March

The Farming, Food and Climate Justice March will be held on Saturday 5 October at 2pm starting at St James Park London.

The march will highlight the link between our farming system and the global climate crisis. It is being organized by the Good Food March.

Movement Building Workshops

There are also workshops on Friday 4 October from people across the sustainable farming and climate justice groups. Details are on the Facebook page and sign up here. Some of the workshops will cover:

  • For ecological justice, should the food system go vegan?
  • Building the National Food Service 
  • Genetically Modified Britain: What Brexit, Boris and the Biotech Lobby mean for our food and our farms
  • Fighting for fairer trade in a climate crisis
  • Connecting the farming community with Extinction Rebellion
  • Seed Sovereignty
  • How could new trade deals affect environmental and animal welfare regulations?
  • Deforestation and land use change in the Amazon
  • Understanding Carbon Cycles 
  • Research in sustainable agriculture and climate change
  • From charitable food surplus distribution towards preventing food waste

Climate Change and Nature: Sustain has taken a keen interest in the rapidly accumulating evidence about the effect of food and farming on climate change and nature, as scientific evidence emerges that our food system is a very significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity loss.
