Nick von Westenholz has been appointed head of a newly formed unit at the NFU tasked with keeping food and farming 'front and centre' of forthcoming deliberations over Britain's witthdrawal from the EU.
Mr von Westenholz, who is a barrister, was previously the NFU's Head of Government Affairs. He left to become Chief Executive of the Crop Protection Association, which represents companies involved in the manufacture of synthetic and bio pesticides, seed and plant breeding and agricultural biotechnology.
To ensure it remains 'on the front foot' during the forthcoming, critical negotiations, the NFU is also hiring a new head of external affairs and two new external affairs managers.
