Better food for Greater Manchester

As part of the devolution process, Manchester is renewing its 'People's Plan' and the Kindling Trust wants to take the opportunity to make Greater Manchester a Sustainable Food City

Sustain member the Kindling Trust is calling on community gardeners, food educators, farmers & commercial growers, food retailers, allotment societies, chefs and food campaigners to unite around a renewed plan for making Greater Manchester a Sustainable Food City.

The Trust has been asked to develop the food section of the 'People's Plan for Greater Manchester'. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the devolution process that will shape future governance in the region.

The Trust intends to use the opportunity to challenge mayoral candidates on their commitment to sustainable food systems.

All food-focussed organisations, small businesses, family firms or community projects are invited to join the Trust at an event on 3 December to plan the campaign for a Sustainable Food City in Greater Manchester.
