Where to buy Real Bread
Map and Mark show places to score additive-free deliciousness.
The Real Bread Campaign defines Real Bread as made without chemical raising agents, so-called processing aids or other additives; and genuine sourdough as Real Bread leavened using only a live sourdough starter culture.
Mapped out
The Campaign invites every (micro)bakery, pizzeria and other producer that makes at least one genuine sourdough, or other Real Bread, to add their details to the Real Bread Map.

Producers and retailers are also invited to join more than 150 currently signed up to The Real Bread Loaf Mark scheme. This offers them a way to give shoppers their at-a-glance assurance that a particular product is Real Bread, or specifically sourdough bread.
Always read the label
The Campaign urges all producers and retailers to label or display full ingredients listings for all products, even when the law does not require it: notably ‘processing aids’ and for products that are sold loose/unpackaged.

Note that, while many of these sell only Real Bread, some might also offer products that fall outside the Campaign's definition. Always read the ingredients list but, if there isn't one (see above), ask a member of staff for details.

Which supermarkets sell Real Bread?
To date, no supermarket has taken the Campaign up on the invitations above. Currently, Peter’s Yard (which makes crispbreads) is the only widely available brand opted into The Real Bread Loaf Mark scheme.
