Food Standards Agency measures to tackle campylobacter

The FSA have released details of the measures they are taking to make sure that poultry producers, processors and retailers take action to reduce levels of campylobacter in chicken.

The Campylobacter Abattoir Campaign aims to reduce contamination levels in plants by testing equipment and birds; the NFU, funded by the FSA are investigatng whether on-farm practices can improve campylobacter status of birds; producers are working on new technology to reduce campylobacter contamination.
