Contribute to a People's Food Policy

Food Sovereignty UK is coordinating work on a People's Food Policy for the UK, and is calling on food groups  and activists to hold workshops before 1st March, then feed back suggestions.

Food Sovereignty UK is an alliance of small-scale producers, NGOs and activist groups (including several Sustain members) whose work reflects the Six Principles of the Food Sovereignty Movement.

The ambition to develop a People's Food Policy emerged from a conference held in Autumn 2015. The goal now is to gather suggestions from as many like-minded groups as possible, who are asked to hold workshops, for which guidelines are available online. The deadline for input is 1st March 2016. Information will be collated and drafts circulated for further comment. Once finalised, the aim is to launch the People’s Food Policy in the final quarter of 2016 and then lobby government in early 2017.
