Environment Secretary Liz Truss has welcomed a rise in British gin exports of 37% in the last five years.
DEFRA praised the work of new British micro-distilleries - more than 35 across the UK are now producing small batch gins. The UK is the world's biggest exporter of gin, with sales of British gin to 139 countries bringing £1.76 billion to the UK economy.
