If the number of this issue (67) doesn’t have you picturing someone repeatedly saying ‘six-seven’, whilst miming weighing things up in their hands, lucky you.*

This quarter sees the second of our annual, international flagship celebrations. This year, we’re keeping Sourdough September super simple, so please see how you can get stuck in. That month marks a decade since Nourish published our recipe book, Slow Dough: Real Bread, so I get all misty-eyed (and foggy-brained) about how it came about.

Elsewhere in the issue, we run the gamut from seed to sandwich. This ranges from children and farmers sowing seeds; to the rebirth of a traditional windmill; to a newbie microbaker; to a seasoned pro handing her bakery’s keys over to a new custodian of the craft.

As ever, we’re here to help share your stories, knowledge, views and news. If you always think ‘when are they going to feature me?’ or want to see someone or something else in True Loaf and / or on our website, please ping me an email.

Happy baking,

Chris Young
Campaign coordinator, editor and tea boy

*It’s an international phenomenon that started doing the rounds in late 2024. Within months, it was driving parents and teachers of Gen-Alpha children crazy…
