Rose vouchers for fruit and vegetables win Lottery funding

A grant of £50,000 will allow the Rose Vouchers scheme to expand its work from the London boroughs of Hackney and Lambeth to another town or city

Rose Vouchers for Fruit and Veg is a programme designed and managed by Sustain member Food Matters, working with the Alexandra Rose Charities. The scheme aims to build on the government's Healthy Start scheme, by helping pregnant women and young families to buy and eat more fruit and vegetables, and to take part in activities that make sense for the health and happiness of both parents and their young children.

Victoria Williams, director of Food Matters -- a Brighton-based non-profit that promotes and implements practical solutions to food poverty -- said that the Rose Voucher scheme was a simple and direct way of helping families lead healthier and happier lives.
