Unite launches Brexit Check to protect members from Brexit impact
Sustain member Unite the Union, whose hundreds of thousands of members include food and farming workers, has launched a new Brexit Check website to help protect union members from the possible impact of Brexit at work.
Unite the union asks: "Is your employer using Brexit to attack terms and conditions?"
The union is using its combined strength to protect members from the possible impact of Brexit at work.
Some employers may be exploiting the uncertainty caused by the UK's decision to leave the EU; for example by blaming Brexit when withholding holiday pay, blocking union reps from attending meetings, or when trying to justify job losses. Unite says, "As the UK prepares to leave the European Union it is vital that we make sure our members’ voices are heard. Unite is reliant on our network of workplace reps and shop stewards to help monitor the impact of Brexit across our sectors."
