Food Standards Scotland have developed a raft of proposals, including a sugar tax, to address Scotland's poor diet.
FSS said that Scotland had been missing the Scottish Dietary Goals for the last 15 years and were now on a trend which could see Scotland with obesity levels at 40% by 2030. They challenged the Scottish government to make plans for a sugar tax and give the food industry a year to come up with an 'acceptable solution' to a sugar tax.
