Surplus food from all four markets is being used to feed disadvantaged Londoners. With the help of Plan Zheroes, a Hackney hostel run by Look Ahead Care & Support is now collecting surplus produce from Broadway Market each Saturday. Traders in Brixton Village and neighbouring Market Row are donating unsold food to Brixton's Ruach City Church, to be used in a weekly lunch for homeless people. 'London Food Rescue Network' City Harvest is collecting surplus fruit and vegetables from wholesale market New Covent Garden and delivering them to various local charities feeding people in need.
