Join a new free course exploring nature-based solutions for farming

Researchers at the Centre for Food Policy are inviting people with an interest in farming, nature, and the wider food system to take part in a new free online short course on agricultural nature-based solutions (NbS).

The course will run between October and December 2026 and is being piloted as part of the Centre's Joined Up Landscapes project. It will explore what nature-based solutions mean for UK agriculture, how they can work in practice, and what is needed to support wider uptake across the sector.

The course consists of four one-hour sessions covering:

• why nature-based solutions are needed in the UK and the different actors involved;
• what agricultural nature-based solutions look like in practice;
• the factors shaping their implementation on the ground; and
• potential pathways for scaling up nature-based solutions across UK agriculture.

The course is open to people with an interest in agricultural nature-based solutions and the wider food and farming system.

As this is a pilot, participants will also have an opportunity to help shape the course by providing feedback through a series of surveys, with the option to take part in a focus group.

Places are limited and early applications are encouraged.
