Sustain welcomes ClientEarth to the alliance

ClientEarth has joined Sustain, strengthening a shared commitment to tackling systematic flaws in our food system that lead to climate and biodiversity crises.

Sustain is delighted to announce its Council of Trustees have approved environmental charity ClientEarth to join the Sustain alliance.

Both ClientEarth and Sustain share a commitment to tackling systematic flaws in our food system that lead to climate and biodiversity crises, as well as unjust and unequal access to good food and adequate public health.

ClientEarth’s work in advocating sustainable, regenerative agriculture in Europe and support of the EU Farm to Fork Strategy further cements a shared vision for the world.

Ben Reynolds, Deputy CEO of Sustain, commented:

ClientEarth joining the ranks of our alliance couldn't have come at a better time. We must look to new ways to tackle the countless crises of our times, to find new tools, new partnerships and leverage points. The potential and power of the legal system has proved a vital tool for many of our members on related issues. We must see how it can be better brought to bear on food and farming. ClientEarth have become one of the most effective environmental organisations globally in such a short space of time. We literally cannot wait to start exploring what first to work on together, for the need and the range of threats has never been greater.

Laura Clarke, CEO of ClientEarth, says:

“ClientEarth is delighted to be joining the Sustain alliance. Sustain has an incredible track record of advocating for fairer and more sustainable food systems and has continually raised awareness of the importance of the law in transforming food systems for the better. We share the alliance’s belief that systemic change in agriculture, fisheries and land management is crucial if the UK is to address the critical environmental issues that we now face. We look forward to working together to deliver a shared vision for sustainable agriculture and food systems across the UK.”
