The BBC Food and Farming Awards honours those “who have done the most to promote the cause of good food”. This recognition acknowledges the outstanding work of the Alexandra Rose Charity in its unwavering commitment to ensuring access to fresh and affordable food for all.
Alexandra Rose Charity has been delivering Rose Vouchers for fruit and vegetables across the UK for almost ten years. Last year they launched their fruit and veg on prescription project as an extension of this work, in Lambeth and Tower Hamlets.
Chief Executive, Jonathan Pauling said:
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do – from our groundbreaking work in early years nutrition to our work to support people to manage their long-term health via Fruit & veg on Prescription.”
The Food Innovation Award is a testament to the impactful work that the charity has done over the last decade. Alexandra Rose Charity are currently bringing this innovative spirit to the Bridging the Gap programme as one of the lead partners, exploring mechanisms for enabling access to climate and nature friendly food for people on low incomes.
