Last chance to buy shares to support ecological farming

The Ecological Land Cooperative's latest share offer runs till 12 June, giving investors the opportunity to earn interest while helping new-entrant farmers gain access to land.

High land prices deny many aspiring farmers the opportunity to put their dreams and plans into practice. In order to help, the Ecological Land Cooperative is trying to raise enough money through a public share offer to buy another plot of land. The plot will then be subdivided into parcels and rented to new-entrant smallholders, to be cultivated according to ecological principles. The minimum investment is £500, with prospects of 3% interest (but the usual caveats apply). The offer opened in April and runs till 12 June, with more than £150,000 raised so far. Details here.
