Unbolt your farm gate for Open Farm Sunday

With changes to farm subsidies afoot Sustain member Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF) is asking even more farmers to welcome visitors for this year's Open Farm Sunday.

LEAF believe that as we move towards a system of support where farmers will be paid for delivering ‘public goods’ there has never been a more important time for farmers to connect with the public and communicate about all they deliver – not just as food producers but improved soil health and water quality, climate change mitigation and a well-managed countryside rich in biodiversity.

Opening farms for LEAF Open Farm Sunday – whether for a small farm walk or a larger event – will help the public to value the work farmers do.

This year's event will be on Sunday 9 June 2019. Find out more and register here.
