Top dairy research centre joins LEAF to improve sustainable farming
The Centre for Dairy Research (CEDAR) based at the University of Reading is now an Innovation Centre for Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF). It will support LEAF’s work in using modern technology and traditional methods to deliver more sustainable food and farming.
CEDAR will join nine other innovation centres at LEAF (who are a member of the Sustain allliance.)
Caroline Drummond, Chief Executive of LEAF, welcomes CEDAR as a state of the art scientific facility:
“Their extensive research capability, looking at areas such as milk composition and human health, dairy cow nutrition and the environmental impacts of meat and milk production, will further strengthen LEAF’s technical outreach activities. Being able to access CEDAR’s ground-breaking research will support our members and the wider livestock sector to become more innovative and to take advantage of new technologies in order to turn agricultural innovations into commercial opportunities.”
