In a poll of its members, the food industry trade association found 71% of respondents were in favour of staying in the EU.
Participants in the survey, by the Food and Drink Federation, identified the single market, access to raw materials and the free movement of labour as the key considerations that influenced their decision. Only 12% of respondents supported Brexit, while 17% felt it better for their companies not to express a preference either way. The response rate was 50%.
