More visitors than ever take part in Open Farm Sunday

Open Farm Sunday celebrated its tenth anniversary with record numbers of visitors enjoying the opportunity to experience life on farms around the country.

Almost 400 farms were open to visitors on the 7th of June as part of LEAF's (Linking Environment And Farming) campaign to raise awareness of the role farming plays in our lives. An estimated 250,000 visitors enjoyed a summer day celebrating British food and farming, helping young and old to learn more about where their food comes from. As well as Open Farm Sunday, LEAF also organises Open Farm School Days, where farms are open for school visits throughout June.
