The link between farm antibiotic use and the risk to public health

Are antibiotics a threat to public health and how is British farming responding? The Alliance to Save Our Antibiotics and the Royal Society of Medicine are holding an event to discuss antimicrobial resistance.

Globally, the volume of antibiotics given to animals exceeds that given to humans. This event explores the harm to human health that could be caused by high levels of antibiotic use in animals and what UK farmers are doing to address the problem.

The event is being held on 8th February 2018 at the Royal Society of Medicine. You can find out more information and register for the event on the RSM website.

The Alliance to Save Our Antibiotics was co-founded by Sustain. The Alliance is calling for a ban to the routine preventative use of antibiotics in groups of healthy animals in the UK and the EU.
