A hive of activity on bees

A new Fact Sheet from PAN-UK and the launch of the British Bee Coalition are the latest signs that concern is mounting over the crisis facing bees and other pollinators.

You may have missed International Pesticide No Use Day (December 3rd), but that's not a problem because the latest Bee Fact Sheet, launched by Sustain member PAN-UK to mark the event, is available online here. It looks at the persistence of neonicotinoid insecticides in the environment and examines the harm that they are having on a number of different organisms - including bees.
 
The week also saw the launch of the  British Bee Coalition, an alliance of environmental groups that aims to focus public concern on the crisis facing pollinators (and the food plants that depend on them).
