LEAF Education believe that engaging young people in food and farming is vitally important; to the future of the agricultural industry, as future consumers and for their own health and wellbeing.
LEAF is inviting you to find out first hand from teenagers, their views and ideas around farming and how their food is produced.
LEAF Education and Public Engagement Conference
When: Tuesday 16th October
Where: Rothamsted Research, West Common, Harpenden, Hertfordshire AL5 2JQ
LEAF, supported by Rothamsted Research has undertaken extensive primary research to gain greater insight into how today’s young people view farming and to gauge their level of understanding and interest in where their food comes from. The results of this ground-breaking piece of research will be shared at the conference and debated in workshops. There will also be a programme of inspiring speakers sharing ideas and experiences of their work in this area with teenagers.
Aimed at farmers, teachers, educationalists, policy makers and researchers, this one-day conference will bring together leading experts from across the farming, food, education and communications sectors. All with a particular focus on this often ‘hard to reach’ 12 to 18 year old age group. We will explore new ideas, fresh thinking and novel innovations to inspire and mobilise future generations about farming and its role in addressing some of the most pressing issues of our time.
The event is free to attend and the booking page will be available soon on LEAF's event page.
