Food workers paid less than the minimum wage

Gangmaster loses licence for fraud leading to underpayment of workers

A Shropshire-based 'gangmaster', which provided casual workers for local food businesses, has been stripped of its licence for paying less than the minimum wage.
 
TRS Personnel, of Telford, lost its Gangmasters Licensing Authority licence after an investigation found it was paying workers for fewer hours than they had worked and falsifying paperwork.
 
As a result of the fraud, one worker was paid only £5.03 an hour, rather then the £6.50 he was entitled to.
