Government calls for CAP simplification

EU Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan is expected to announce proposals for simplification of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the autumn of 2015.

Defra say the priorities for change should be: more flexibility for countries to adopt EU guidance their own way, simpler and fewer farm inspections and the scrapping of the 'three crop rule' which requires farmers to plant three different crops each year.
