Every mouthful counts: Unlocking a metropolitan food revolution

Webinar Wednesday 6 December 2023 11:00 12:30

Sustain reveals how metropolitan councils have progressed on food and climate a year on from our last report.

The food system is responsible for a third of UK emissions and is the leading cause of biodiversity loss. This needs to change.

Local authorities in the UK spend over £70bn on procurement each year and manage up to 1.3 million acres of land collectively. They have a significant role to play in reversing Britain's broken food system.

In this exciting webinar, Food for the Planet share the findings of our latest research, revealing how metropolitan councils have progressed on food and climate a year on from our last report. We hear from Newcastle, Birmingham and Leeds  – some of our council trailblazers - followed by a Q&A where we find out more about the successes and challenges in creating a good food local revolution in metropolitan areas.
