Leaving a legacy
It’s not something that many of us like to think about but might you consider leaving some dough to the Real Bread Campaign after you’ve gone?
Sustain, the food and farming charity that runs the Campaign, has published notes to help you think through the possibility, including how to support us when writing (or adding a codicil to) your will.
Any legacy you left (either a set amount or a percentage of your residual estate) would be used by Sustain in accordance with Sustain’s good governance policies, as overseen by the charity’s council of trustees.
When making a bequest, you can specify that your preference is for Sustain to use it for Real Bread Campaign activity.*

To be clear, we’re not asking for anyone’s entire estate, complete with all goods and chattels, or their kids’ inheritance. We just wanted to throw our hat in the ring as an option for a small slice of whatever charitable giving you might do, after taking care of who and what you need to.
We also understand this isn’t for everyone but thank you in advance if you do give this some thought.
*In the event that Sustain stops running the Real Bread Campaign, your gift would be used towards the charity’s other food and farming activity.
Real Bread Campaign: The Real Bread Campaign finds and shares ways to make bread better for us, better for our communities and better for the planet. Whether your interest is local food, community-focussed small enterprises, honest labelling, therapeutic baking, or simply tasty toast, everyone is invited to become a Campaign supporter.
