Fairtrade wants a better deal for sugar cane farmers

The Fairtrade Foundation has criticised the UK government for supporting reform of the EU sugar market. 

Sustain member Fairtrade say plans to remove limits on EU beet sugar production from 2017 could push 200,000 people in developing countries in Africa and the Caribbean into poverty.
