The Small Food Awards
If you run a food business with two employees or fewer, the Small Food Awards could be a great opportunity for you. Run by the School of Artisan Food and Virtuous Bread, the awards are open for submissions in five categories:

  • Real Bread (made using a sourdough starter or baker’s yeast)
  • Chocolate (bars only this year, no truffles or chocolate-covered food)
  • Cheese (goat, cow, sheep; veg or non veg)
  • Charcuterie (not smoked meats)
  • Fermented savoury foods (sauerkraut, pickles, etc. no drinks)

You can enter as many categories as you like, with a maximum of two submissions per category. Deadline for registration is 9 April 2018 and deadline for submissions is 25 April 2018.

The Rural Business Awards
These aim to promote businesses based in rural areas. The thirteen award categories include:

  • Best Rural Food Business
  • Best Rural Drink Business
  • Best Rural Start Up
  • Rural Social Enterprise or Community Project of the Year

The winners will be decided by an independent panel of judges drawn from rural businesses, agencies and charitable organisations.

The deadline for applications is 31 May 2018.

The World Bread Awards
With Real Bread Campaign supporters having tended to dominate the podium every year since they were launched in 2014, these awards are open to professional, amateur and junior bakers.

The 18 categories range from Great British White, via the Real Bread Campaign’s own category, to the hugely-popular Sourdough. There’s also a people’s choice award, which encourages people to vote for their favourite bakery.

Entries close 5 September 2018.
