Building on the Real Bread Campaign’s work and success since November 2008, we at Sustain are looking ahead to the Campaign’s third phase.
As the first stage of this process, we’re gathering information and opinions about key current (and future) challenges, needs and opportunities related to grain, flour and bread. We’re seeking to identify issues that we (in collaboration with other people, projects / initiatives, organisations / networks and businesses) can help to address over the next three-to-five years.
We will then design, and work to secure funding / generate income for, the activity we plan.
So, what do you think? If we handed you the baton tomorrow (and treasure map to find the magic money tree) what are the key issues on which the Campaign should focus and why?
Rather than us asking you to complete yet another survey, if you have observations, suggestions or any questions, please email Real Bread Campaign coordinator Chris Young.
At this point, we’re looking at the problems that need to be solved and things that need to be improved. Discussing and deciding what we can do to help solve and improve them will be a later stage.
This existential review is starting with a blank sheet. The vision, mission, aims and activity of the Campaign’s next phase might not necessarily be the same as those to date.
Okay, not totally blank. Whatever we do needs to be in line with one or more key themes of Sustain’s strategy, which are: good food production, good food economy and good food for all.
These themes can (and often do) encompass collaborative working on:
Real Bread Campaign: Finding and sharing ways to make bread better for us, our communities and planet.
