News Good Food Trade Campaign

Is a Welsh Food Network on its way?

A group of passionate Welsh folk involved in food are aiming to establish a network to provide an umbrella for the many different activities and activists in Wales that are promoting sustainable food and diets.

According to food campaigners, farmers, academics and businesses, Wales is abuzz with activities intended to tackle food system challenges, from obesity to climate change, from poor remuneration for farmers to the demand for food banks. But the work tends to be fragmented. To join the dots -- and generate the synergies that more concerted action could achieve -- a group has emerged to discuss how the many food connections across Wales could work better.

The result - still very much in development - is Food Network Wales. The organisers hope to work together with as many people and groups as possible, and have produced a consultation document which summarises their thinking to date. They are soliciting responses and contributions from everyone with an interest in giving Wales a more sustainable food system. Find out more here.
