Ben Reynolds, Deputy CEO of Sustain: The alliance for better food and farming, said: “This research by the Daily Mirror goes to highlight the ridiculous con that is bottled water.
“It’s all about marketing and snobbery and nothing to do with quality.
“We live in a country with perfectly fine drinking water, and hopefully these findings should persuade more people to give up the plastic and go back to tap.”
The findings were also covered in the Sun.
Sustain has produced reports on the problems of bottled water before, and is supporting efforts to increase consumption of tap water and the provision of drinking fountains through the SUGAR SMART campaign.
Sustain: Sustain The alliance for better food and farming advocates food and agriculture policies and practices that enhance the health and welfare of people and animals, improve the working and living environment, enrich society and culture and promote equity.
