Online lecture by CWT discusses tackling food poverty

The Caroline Walker Trust will be hosting its third online lecture as part of its ‘Improving food & public health’ series on Wednesday 26 February at 19:30.

This session will focus on tackling food poverty and feature a panel of expert speakers who are all making vital and important contributions towards improving the current situation in the UK. Curretnly there are 7.2 million people or 11% of the UK population living in households experiencing food poverty (House of Commons, 2024).

Speakers are:

  • Brenda Black, CEO of Edinburgh Community Food, RD & Churchill Fellow
  • Hannah Style, Founder and Research Dietitian at FEAST With Us, a grassroots initiative tackling food insecurity by bringing nutrition science to the food charity sector & Professional Development Lead Dietitian at East London NHS Foundation Trust
  • Dr Clare Pettinger, Associate Professor in Public Health Dietetics, University of Plymouth & Community Food Activist 

They will be sharing their insights and experience in this field to educate, inspire and motivate anyone with an interest in food poverty to take action – including food campaigners, charities, students and recent graduates.
