BBC programme debates meat tax

This week BBC One’s The Big Questions debated whether or not meat should be taxed.

The discussion over whether a meat tax should be introduced is gaining more mainstream attention. A BBC One daytime programme featured the debate “Should meat be taxed to save the planet?”

The programme is available on the BBC iPlayer until 2 February 2018. You can watch the episode by following this link. The meat debate starts 22 minutes into the programme.

In December the Farm Animal Investment Risk and Return Initiative predicted that it is “highly probable” that we will see meat being taxed by governments across the world.
