From 3pm to 4pm on Saturday the 12th of Sourdough September, join multi-award-winning baker, and past Real Bread Campaign ambassador, Peter Cook in conversation with Campaign coordinator Chris Young.
Peter, owner and head baker of Peter Cooks Bread, has been honing his craft since the early '90s, while Chris has run the Campaign since 2009.
Slow Food in the UK says: 'Chris has helped to open the eyes of many to the multiple falsehoods that plague the baking industry. With an agenda to make good, honest bread available to all, we team Chris up with multiple award-winning baker Peter Cook. Join these two in conversation, discussing the finer details of what makes Real Bread real, deliciously illustrated by tasting some of Peter’s personal choices from his own portfolio of Real Bread.'
Peter has been a Ludlow Food Festival regular from its foundation in 1995 but this will be Chris's first visit for more than a decade. Chris was named joint Person of the Year 2025 by Slow Food UK and Peter Cooks Bread won Slow Food UK Producer of the Year. The conversation is hosted in the castle grounds by Tish Dockerty, co-chair of the Slow Food Ludlow Marches group.
Ludlow Food Festival 2026 takes place from Friday 11 September to Sunday 13 September. You can find out more and book tickets on the festival website.
