New champion for City Farms and Community Gardens

Veteran food campaigner Charlie Powell appointed director of Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens.

Sustain member the Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens (FCFCG) has appointed Charlie Powell as its new Director. He replaces former Chief Executive Jeremy Iles, who left FCFCG in May after 15 years with the charity to pursue fresh interests.

After starting in his new post in early August, Charlie said he was looking forward to promoting the great work Federation members do in communities across the UK, as well as addressing some of the challenges they face, especially regarding funding.

Sustain is delighted to welcome Charlie back into the Alliance: for several years he was Campaigns Director here.
